Not for the weak at heart.... Eastons Thumb

I have been meaning to do a post on Easton's thumb. I have been on the fence about posting pictures on here of it. Its just that it was sooo gory and nasty looking.

I didn't think people wanted to see it. But then again, this is MY blog, and more of a baby book for the boys than anything. So...

But I decided that I would!

I have just a couple of pictures of his thumb. It was week 3 after it happened. We had been to see Dr. T, the day before. I just remember thinking, I am going to want to see these one day. Gross, I know!!

But now its all healed up! We went to see Dr. T, a total of 4 times. And then we went and saw Dr. C, about 3 weeks later, just so that he could see it, and make sure that it was still healing properly.

While we there visiting him, I showed him the pictures, that I am fixing to show you, and he was a little speechless. He kept saying,"that's muscle, that's this, that's that!" I almost teared up a little.

But he defiantly reassured me the Mrs. K, had done an awesome job of getting us to where we needed to be.

And he said that it looked good, and then went to move it around and make sure that Easton had all his movements. Well Easton started whining, not really crying, but you could tell that it was uncomfortable for him. So he said that thier ****could**** be some minor damage. BUT not to get all worried. That if anything, in a couple of months, and when I say a couple, he means about 6-8 months, that if its still like this, its pretty stiff, not the thumb, the skin that is healing, that he would send us to a plastic surgeon in Dallas, and they would do a very minor surgery on where that re-open his scar in a couple of places, to help in the movement process.  Sounds scary, but assured me, its not. So for the time being, Easton gets his thumb moved around, every day, and every time I think about it. And Dr. C said that he would look at it again at their 2 year checkup.

So that's that!!
