splish splash, we love our bath!

A couple of weekends ago, our air conditioner had had it. So I packed up the boys, left Robby a note, and headed to my sisters house.

We ate dinner, and then it was time for baths. Amy got the bright idea that the boys all needed to take a bath together. I on the hand, was a little nervous. My boys LOVE their bath! So much in fact that they splish and splash and have a grand ole time in the bath. And well Kinsler, he is just beginning to sit up, and well quiet frankly, I wasn't sure how my boys would behave in the bath with him.

BUT....

.... They did great!! no splashing, no pushing.... It was kind of like, why is HE in here with US?

my sweet little angels and nephew!

Yo Kinz, up here!!!!
Snap!
Hello my little Sunshine's!!!

Caldwell Zoo-Tyler

Last Monday, August 16th, I took off work to spend some much needed time with my boys. Robby had been out of town taking "J" back to his moms, and wasn't due back to Monday evening, so I just took instead of getting a babysitter. Well Robby surprised us and came home a day early, so we decided to take the boys to the zoo.

We had a great time, and I am pretty sure the boys enjoyed it too!

Here we are in the gift shop. I totally forgot to bring sun screen, so first things first, we had to get that out of way.

Right out of the gift shop we encountered these ugly creatures. Not sure what they were, but the boys took interest in them...

The lone rhino. I had to zoom in to get this picture, and the boys took NO interest in him until...

... we went into their little cage area type thing. Not sure what you call it. But in their, their were 2 rhinos. So we got to see them up close in person.. Very cool!

Cam was more impressed than East was...

What is that thing??

Easton was more like, "its hot and I really don't care, thankyouverymuch!"

On the the giraffes.. My personal favorite..

Easton and Daddy checking out the giraffes...

Camden and Daddy checking out the giraffes...

The elephants are next to the giraffes, but they had the gate closed where you couldn't get back there to really see them..

On the road again...

Inside the penguin and bird and fish house.

The boys really liked this building. I'm not sure if it was because it was air conditioning or if they really liked watching the birds and fish. Properly a little of both!!!

I just liked this picture because you could see the fish and the 2 birds on the ground above them.. Kinda cool..

The boys watching the fishes...

so sweet!

This little fellow pretty much hopped and flew all around us the whole time we were in there.

on the path again....

to see an alligator, or was it a crocodile? At this point I didn't care, I was sooo hot! I think we all were....

what are yall checking out??

a buffalo!!!

We came across another air conditioning building. It was the snake and bug building. Normally I would have said, "no way, Jose!" But considering it was hotter than hades out side, I was alllll over it! HA!

We did see this cute little lizard, that was about the only thing that was cute in there.

We high tailed it out of there and didn't stop till we got to the car! What can I say, we were pretty miserable at this point!

Our next stop was....

Mercado's!!! YUMMO!!! One of my favorites!!

Cam is ready to eat!

Are you ready eat Easton? "Of course I am, momma!!!" HAHA!!

All in all we had a great family day! We had no melt downs like we did here. And after we ate, we stopped by Toys R Us to get some ideas for Christmas, then headed home!

We can't wait till the fall, we already have plans to go the Ft. Worth Zoo!!!

16 months!!

I decided this month on their 16 month birthday(yesterday), to document what the boys did from when I got home from work(5:00pm ish) till they went to bed (7:00pmish). The boys did not disappoint me! HAHA!

This is what I found the MOMENT I walked in the door.
Aunt Emily had been keeping them on this day, so she pretty much lets them do whatever. That's not to say that I don't let them play under the cabinets, because I do. But when Momma is home they know to play under "their" cabinet.

Quiet the mess...

Easton has to get every thing out from under there...

Even the things allll the way in the back!
I started dinner at this point and shoo'ed (is that even a word!?) the boys into the living room to play....
5 minutes later and this is what I see...
mess 2 in progress...
Lets zoom in shall we?

decorative items off the brown table into the floor? check
surround sound speaker from behind the decorative items, in the floor? check
all the wipes, lotions, and diapers pulled from their diaper changing basket pulled out and on the floor? check, check and CHECK!!

I would like to point out what is Camdens hand.... Its part of my phone. I had a flip ghetto phone that got broke. And to say that Camden likes playing with it, is quite the understatement. The kid has a obsession with it. HA! (I have NO clue where he gets that from!)
After cleaning up mess 2, the boys were starving...

Easton reminds me of the puppy off of 101 Dalmatians. "I'm hungry momma, feed me momma, I'm hungry, I'm SOOO hungry!" Crack me up!

Dinner is served!

This is one of their favorites. It has become my go to meal this summer.

Yum, Yum, Yum!

Notice the phone?

why are still taking pictures of me?

On to Bath time...

Easton rocking the soap mohawk!

So is Cam... I pried the phone out of his hands for the bath..
After bath time, we diaper, get out jammies on and play for about an hour before bed...

This night in particular, Camden mastered climbing up in the chair all by him self. He was so proud!!! Notice the phone?!!! (what did I tell ya? OBSESSED!)

Easton showing me that he could do it too!! yay East!
After playing and snuggling, I layed the boys down about 6:50pmish. And I didn't get pics.. OOPPPS! Oh well, I was a little worn out. And so were they. They were asleep by 7:15pm!
What are yall up too at 16 months??
-Camden wears 12 to 18 month clothes
-Easton wears 18 to 24 month clothes
-both size 5 diapers
-Easton has 14 teeth!! WOW! he has gotten in his 2 top molars and his 2 bottom molars in the past month!
-Camden still has 8 teeth.
-Easton is talking up a storm, and pretty much mimicks anything you say.
-some new words East says, cookie, nana, baby(comes out, bayyybeee), huh?, see, sit, sippy(what we call sippy cup).
-Camden still just saying a few words, dada, hi, hey, bye-bye. Were working on him!
-both have started throwing little tantrums. How is this already starting?
-both still LOVING your bath..
-Easton has been soooo sweet lately. I have witnessed him handing over a toy to Camden if he is crying. It seriously is the sweetest thing ever.
-This past month, I have also noticed the boys "looking" for one another. Example- If one gets up from a nap earlier than the other, they will keep going back to there room to see if that one is up yet. So sweet!
-Camden has started doing what we call a "happy dance" he stomps his little feet really fast, and claps his hands and then spins in circles! Soo sweet!
But more importantly, I love them soooo much! They are soo much fun right now. And I cant believe they are 16 months... Time really is going by way to fast!

Roseola

So last Wednesday night, Easton spiked a high fever out of no where! I was thinking it might be to his nose or maybe an infection tied to his nose. So I gave him some advil and through out the night it kept spiking as soon as the advil would wear off. So Thursday morning I called the Dr.'s office and they asked me to bring him in.

So we go in and nope its nothing to do with his nose, which is doing really good, he has Roseola.

WHAT THE HECK??? Seriously!

Anyway, its a virus that is very common in young kids (6 months to 3 years) and basically it has an incubation period of around 17 days, and once it hits, they(kiddos) run a high fever, sometimes up to 105! YIKES! And some other symptoms include flu like symptoms, swollen eye lids, loss of appetite, and a rash all over their body after 3-5 days after the fever starts. Oh and its VERY contagious while they are running the fever.

NICE!

Well, Easton is in his rash stage now, and its barely noticeable. And Camden is running fever now, but I am more prepared with him. We've already stocked up on more Advil, Tylenol and Gatorade.

You wanna know something weird? Easton had all the above symptoms except for the flu-like symptoms. And Camden only has the tell-tell high fever and the flu-like systems.

Must be a twin thing!

But Camden has been like this for 2 days now, so in about 3 more days, our house should be back to normal!
